Use of Compression Brakes Prohibited
THE VILLAGE BOARD OF THE VILLAGE OF PARK RIDGE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. PUBLIC NUISANCES AFFECTING THE USE OF COMPRESSION BRAKES
1. Prohibition. No person shall use motor vehicle brakes within the Village of Park Ridge, which are in any way activated or operated by the compression of the engine or any motor vehicle or any unit or part thereof.
2. Exception. It shall be an affirmative defense to prosecution under this ordinance that compression brakes were applied in an emergency and were necessary for the protection of persons or property.
3. Penalty. Any person violating the provision of this subsection shall upon conviction suffer a forfeiture of not more than $100.00
Section II. EFFECTIVE DATE
This ordinance shall take effect upon passage and publication as provided by law.
Passed and adopted by the Village Board of the Village of Park Ridge on this 21st day of January, 2002.
