VILLAGE OF PARK RIDGE MONTHLY BOARD MEETING
Monday, November 21, 2016
5:30 p.m. – Village Hall – 24 Crestwood Drive
President Robert Gifford called the regular meeting of the Park Ridge Village Board to order at 5:30 p.m. Trustees Gordon Renfert, Patricia Baker, Randy Busch, and Dr. Steven Bergin were present. Also present were Fire Chief Brian Lepper, firefighters Pete Jacoby, Ron Slicer, and Chris Villarreal. Residents present were Tom Gloudemans (302 Greenbriar) and Jim Sachs (47 Odessa Court).
Gifford opened the Public Budget Hearing for anyone having questions or comments concerning the 2017 budget. No one was present to speak.
Agenda – Baker moved to approve the agenda. Seconded by Bergin. Carried with no negative votes.
October Minutes – Renfert moved to approve the October minutes. Seconded by Baker. Carried with no negative votes.
Acceptance of October Special Budget Meeting – Bergin moved to approve the Special Budget Meeting minutes. Seconded by Renfert. Carried with no negative votes.
Acceptance of October Treasurer’s Report – Busch moved to accept the October Treasurer’s Report. Seconded by Renfert. Carried with no negative votes.
Discussion and possible action on operator’s license application – Busch moved to approve the application of R. Fletcher and D. Porter. Seconded by Bergin. Carried with no negative votes.
Discussion and possible action on changing sign ordinance – Busch motioned to deny the request to change the sign ordinance. Busch recommended that the resident make an application to the zoning committee for approval to post sign. Seconded by Bergin. Carried no negative votes.
Firefighter John Kraft arrived to the meeting at 6:25 p.m.
Discussion and possible action on obtaining current fire protection plans with current figures and plans from the City of Stevens Point to enable a fair comparison – Baker motioned to form a group to meet with the Stevens Point Fire Department and Mayor Wiza for the purpose of obtaining current numbers for fire protection and water supply. Seconded by Renfert. Carried with no negative votes.
Discussion and possible action no amending 2016 Budget for the purpose of purchasing fire department equipment - Busch moved to withdraw Item #10 from the agenda. Seconded by Baker. Carried with no negative votes.
Discussion and possible action on Resolution 002.2017R, 2017 Budget – Baker motioned to approve the 2017 Budget. Seconded by Busch. Roll call: Bergin, aye; Renfert, aye; Baker, aye; Busch, aye; Gifford, aye. The Budget hearing was closed at 6:45 p.m. Motion carried.
Street Update – The swaling has been completed. Clerk to contact WPS regarding light issue at corner of Fieldcrest and Pinecrest.
Village Hall Update – Clerk noted that the Hall back parking lot light was repaired a few days before the election. The Clerk noted the sprinkler system was flushed out and winterized. Clerk was asked to call in the Village Hall inside lights to be repaired.
Approval of November bills – Baker moved to approve the November bills. Seconded by Busch. Carried with no negative votes.
Set date for next regular meeting – The next regular board meeting will be convened on December 19, 2016 at 5:30 p.m.
Adjourn - Baker motioned to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Renfert. Carried with no negative votes. Meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
