VILLAGE OF PARK RIDGE MONTHLY BOARD MEETING

5:30 p.m. – Village Hall – 24 Crestwood Drive

 

President Tom Gloudemans called the regular meeting of the Park Ridge Village Board to order at 5:30 p.m.  Trustees Jim LaMar, Patricia Baker, Gordon Renfert and Kathy Budelier were present.  Also attending was resident Bob Daniels and staff from ConsTrucks.

 

Agenda – Budelier moved to approve the December agenda.  Seconded by LaMar.  Carried with no negative votes.

 

November Minutes – Renfert moved to approve the November minutes.  Seconded by Budelier.  Carried with no negative votes.

 

Acceptance of November Treasurer’s Report – LaMar moved to accept the November Treasurer’s Report.  Seconded by Renfert.  The Clerk noted that due to an error by County staff, a portion of the 2013 real estate property tax would be rescinded for 15 Park Ridge Drive.  Board members asked that the Clerk discuss with the County Treasurer full recovery of the Village’s portion of the tax.  Motion carried with no negative votes.

 

Street Update – There were no complaints related to plowing.  Clayton (last name not recorded), plow driver for ConsTrucks, answered questions about his experience in the Village and the sand/salt mixture used.  Board members thanked him for coming.  The Clerk was instructed to send out letters regarding winter sidewalk maintenance.

 

Quarterly Discussion – Village Building Inspector – LaMar moved to accept the building inspector’s report.  Seconded by Budelier.  Motion carried with no negative votes.

 

Quarterly Discussion – Village Zoning Administrator –  LaMar moved to accept the zoning administrator’s report.  Seconded by Budelier.  Budelier noted that junk is accumulating outside 40 Crestwood again, and that she would try to work with the owner.  The Board will revisit the situation at the January meeting.  LaMar agreed to contact the owners of 503 Greenbriar about the truck they are parking in the alley.  Motion carried with no negative votes.

 

Discussion and possible action on distressed property in Village – No action needed, as remodeling is progressing at 112 Linwood as agreed to at the November meeting.

 

Discussion and possible action on Ordinance 10.08 – Gloudemans and LaMar will develop revised language for the ordinance for the Board to review at the January meeting.  Bob Daniels (219 Sunrise), suggested language regarding the removal of stumps.

 

Discussion and possible action on business district ordinances – It was agreed that more definitions in the ordinance regarding business district uses would be desirable.  Baker and Gloudemans will bring suggested changes to the January meeting.  If it is determined that changes are desirable, the Board will charge the Zoning Committee with review and recommendations.

 

Approval of 2014-15 Election Board – Gloudemans presented the slate of nominees to the 2014-15 Election Board as listed in the board packet materials.  Nominations were unanimously approved.

 

Update on Village Hall – No report.

 

Approval of December bills – LaMar moved to approve the December bills.  Seconded by Budelier.  Carried with no negative votes.

 

The caucus will be held at 5:30 p.m. on January 20, 2014 immediately preceding the regular meeting. 

 

There being no further business before the Board, the monthly meeting was adjourned at 6:47 p.m.
